My Story
I was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, right along the shores of Nueces Bay. When I was just a baby, my family moved north to Round Rock, a city just outside of Austin. Even in high school, I knew I wanted to be a teacher—I joined a program that allowed me to spend time in elementary classrooms, and I absolutely loved it. Teaching quickly became my dream.

After high school, I enrolled at Austin Community College and earned my Associate Degree in Education in 2013. Feeling ready for a new chapter, I moved from my hometown of Round Rock to San Antonio and continued my studies at The University of Texas at San Antonio. I completed my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education in 2014—just in time to welcome my first son into the world.

While raising him, I worked part-time as a substitute teacher. After a few years, I realized I wanted more consistency and connection with my students, so I pursued a full-time teaching role. I started as a First Grade teacher at Edgewood ISD, and later moved to South San Antonio ISD, continuing in First Grade. I stayed in that role for three years before trying out Third Grade—but I quickly discovered my heart was with the younger learners.

That led me to Kindergarten, where I’ve happily been teaching for the past three years. Teaching has always felt like home to me—it’s where I started, and where I truly belong!

As a teacher, I naturally found myself becoming the go-to tech support for my team. Whether it was troubleshooting classroom technology or helping fellow teachers integrate digital tools into their lessons, I was always eager to help. This passion inspired me to pursue a Master's Degree in Learning, Design, and Technology. I saw it as a perfect fit—allowing me to stay rooted in education while expanding my impact through technology.

As I’ve progressed through the program, something unexpected happened: my love for traditional classroom teaching began to shift. I discovered a deep interest in designing engaging digital experiences and creating visually compelling content. That spark has grown into a full-blown passion, and now I’m excited to explore a new path—as a Graphic Designer and Instructional Designer. I’m ready to take my creativity, educational insight, and tech-savvy mindset into this next chapter.
